How We Give Back
In times of need for our First Responders, LND reaches out to the family to offer our help. Some ways we have been able to help during these challenging times have been by providing food or gift cards for food, paying for hotel rooms so that families can be near their loved ones in the hospital, offered financial help when needed.
Ongoing Support and Aid
We’ve provided First Responders and Veterans in need of help with things such as replacing a heating system, hot water heater, refrigerator, installing a wheelchair ramp, and providing a dumpster, amongst other things.
Winter Backpacks for Veterans
Every year we donate 50 winter backpacks for Veterans in need, including cold weather essentials. These backpacks were dropped off at the Brockton VA for the homeless Veterans.
Thanksgiving Meals
LND donated 10 frozen turkeys delivered to ensure those in need would be able to enjoy a thanksgiving meal.
Gift Cards
LND provided turkeys and gift cards for Veterans in need at Thanksgiving
Drinks That Give Back
Several local restaurants help in our fundraising efforts by offering a specialty drink, The Mustache, and donating a portion of the sales to LND.
Adopted struggling families at Christmas
LND provided Christmas dinner for the Taunton Fire Department, sponsored weekly veterans breakfasts in February, hosted a holiday brunch for Rebuilding First Responders, helped with auto repairs for a veteran in need, and completed exterior home repairs for a veteran family.
In 2025, we:
- Sponsored participants in Wild at Hearts Equine Therapy
- Provided an electric bike for a Veteran getting back on his feet
- Sponsored 6 participants in the Mass State Police Trooper Student Program
- Hosted a deep-sea fishing charter free of cost to Veterans and First Responders
- Funded two $2500 scholarships for Veterans, First Responders, and their families
- Helped an unhoused Veteran get set up in his new home
- Provided grocery store gift cards to Veterans during the government shutdown
- Helped a young family of a first responder facing terminal illness get a bed to put beside the hospital bed in their home so her family can be by her side
